How we put this together: We read each vendor's official pricing and feature pages on 8 October 2026, using a full browser where prices only load with scripts, and checked which established brand-monitoring vendors offer AI-answer tracking and what each one reports (mentions, sentiment, sources, accuracy checks). We haven't run paid subscriptions of these tools for this article. Prices are in USD as shown on that date, and where a vendor doesn't publish a price we say so.

“Brand monitoring tools” now covers two jobs. The older one tracks mentions of your brand on social media, news sites and blogs. The newer one tracks what AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude say about you when someone asks. This guide covers the newer job, including established monitoring vendors that have added it.

Four things are worth monitoring in AI answers:

  • Accuracy: is what the assistant says about your pricing, products or history correct?
  • Sentiment and description: how are you framed, and next to whom?
  • Sources: which websites the answer draws on. This tells you where to fix things.
  • Mentions and share of voice: how often you appear against competitors.

Most tools measure the last two well. Few check accuracy against facts you supply, so read the answers yourself either way. For the wider tracker market, see the best AI visibility tools, or our guide to ChatGPT rank trackers if ChatGPT is your only concern.

Do the established tools have it?

Checked on vendor pages on 8 October 2026:

  • Yes: Brand24 (an AI Visibility add-on, plus the sister product Chatbeat), Meltwater (GenAI Lens), Talkwalker (LLM Insights) and Brandwatch (Search Intelligence). Cision, which Brandwatch’s demo form names, sells CisionOne AI Visibility.
  • Not found: Mention’s help center says it’s no longer sold standalone from 1 July 2026, and its plans page lists no AI-answer tracking. Awario’s pricing page lists none. Determ’s AI Visibility page was a waiting list.

The tools

1. SEOButler AI Visibility Check: free first read

Enter a brand name, website and, optionally, a topic. SEOButler searches a large index of recorded ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews answers (US, English). It shows where your brand is named, which answers cite your website, and which other brands and sources appear for the topic. You can open the answers behind each number, which is how you read the tone and spot errors yourself.

No email is needed. Verifying one gives a shareable, unbranded report and three brand checks a month.

It isn’t a live tracker. It searches previously recorded answers, so a zero means no matching records, not that AI never mentions you. It reports mentions, citations and the other brands and sources in the answers; judging tone and accuracy means reading them.

Disclaimer: we own SEOButler (which is how we know it’s good).

2. Pace Generative: act on what AI says

Pace Generative is a done-for-you generative engine optimization (GEO) service rather than a self-serve tool. It tracks visibility across the major AI engines, then does the work meant to change it: content written to be cited in AI answers, plus schema markup. Reporting covers citations, share of voice and competitor comparisons.

It’s sold as monthly packages, with pricing on request. It suits brands that find a problem in the monitoring data and want someone else to fix it.

3. Peec AI: sentiment, perception and sources

Starter is $95/month ($80 billed annually) for 50 prompts tracked daily on three models you choose, with unlimited users. Peec’s page lists visibility, position, sentiment and share of voice, plus source analytics that classify cited sites. It also lists brand-perception features: attribute scoring, recurring objections AI raises, and checking tracked answers against facts you set. The pricing page doesn’t make clear which plan includes each, so confirm before buying. Extra models cost more.

4. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: for existing Semrush teams

$99/month per domain for 25 daily prompts, with mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity. Brand Performance shows how AI describes your brand, with sentiment, citations and competitor share of voice. Semrush promotes a 7-day trial. Twenty-five prompts is a small set for a brand with several products.

5. Ahrefs Brand Radar: look at any brand

Custom prompts start at $50/month, and paid Ahrefs plans from Lite include a few. The AI Visibility Index starts at $199/month ($699 for all models) and lets you look up any brand across what Ahrefs says is 462 million prompts, which suits competitor and market monitoring. It also tracks YouTube, TikTok and Reddit (free while in beta). Its focus is visibility numbers, not accuracy checks.

6. AthenaHQ: wrong-claim detection on Enterprise

Starter is $295/month ($245 billed annually) for 11 models on a credit budget, and a free tier gives $25 of credit. Sentiment monitoring is on its feature list. The accuracy tools are the draw: AthenaHQ’s Enterprise plan lists a knowledge base, claim review and discrepancy detection, which AthenaHQ describes as ways to catch inaccurate claims about your brand. Enterprise is custom-priced.

7. Profound: enterprise depth

Profound’s page shows a free trial (50 prompts run daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews) and an Enterprise tier with custom pricing, up to nine answer engines, prompt volume data and agent analytics. It’s built for large brands and sold through demos. No self-serve paid plan is listed.

8. Brand24 and Chatbeat: mentions plus AI answers

Brand24 monitors social, news, blogs and reviews. Individual is $199/month billed annually ($249 monthly) for 3 keywords and 2,000 mentions. Its AI Visibility module is listed as an add-on on every plan, and the page doesn’t show its price. Brand24 also owns Chatbeat, a separate AI tracker: Essential is $99/month for 30 prompts on 3 LLMs, Advanced $299 for 100 prompts on 6, and Business $599 for 300. Brand24’s AI Visibility page lists mentions, position, sentiment, share of voice and source analysis across nine engines, with a free trial.

9. Meltwater GenAI Lens: for PR teams

Meltwater says GenAI Lens tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, DeepSeek, Llama and Grok. It reports AI share of voice and source attribution (media, Reddit, Wikipedia) with a 24-hour refresh, and says it surfaces misinformation, outdated content and negative positioning. Pricing isn’t published; Meltwater says it’s typically an add-on within a Meltwater package, so you need a demo.

10. Talkwalker LLM Insights: for listening teams

Covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. Talkwalker describes mention rate, share of voice, sentiment and tone, and narrative themes. A September 2026 update added a citations and sources table, a visibility score and average position, at no additional cost for existing customers. It’s sold in Lumen by Talkwalker and as an add-on to Hootsuite’s listening product. Pricing isn’t published.

11. Brandwatch Search Intelligence: AI narratives with social data

Brandwatch says it monitors how leading LLMs cite your brand and competitors across thousands of prompts, including sentiment shifts and high-risk narratives. The page names ChatGPT but is thin on engines, and access is through a demo form. Pricing isn’t published. Cision’s CisionOne AI Visibility (nine AI platforms, pricing on request) is a similar offer.

How to choose

  1. Name the job. Fixing visibility points to a tracker. Protecting reputation points to the listening vendors, whose AI modules sit next to news and social data.
  2. Ask about accuracy. Few tools check claims against your facts. Ask any vendor whether it flags wrong answers or only scores mentions and sentiment.
  3. Get the add-on price in writing. Brand24, Meltwater, Talkwalker and Brandwatch don’t publish what their AI modules cost on top of the base plan.
  4. Prefer a sources view. Knowing which pages an answer relies on is what turns monitoring into action.
  5. Start free. Run the SEOButler check or a trial first, and read the answers themselves.

FAQ

What is AI brand monitoring?
It's tracking what AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude say about your brand when people ask them questions: whether you're named, how you're described, whether the facts are right, and which websites the answers draw on. It's separate from traditional brand monitoring, which tracks mentions on social media, news and blogs.
Do Brand24, Mention, Meltwater, Talkwalker and Brandwatch track AI answers?
On 8 October 2026, Brand24 listed an AI Visibility module as an add-on (and sells a separate product, Chatbeat), Meltwater had GenAI Lens, Talkwalker had LLM Insights and Brandwatch had Search Intelligence with GenAI monitoring. Mention's help center said it was no longer sold as a standalone product from 1 July 2026, and its plans page lists no AI-answer tracking.
Is there a free AI brand monitoring tool?
The SEOButler AI Visibility Check is free and searches recorded ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews answers for your brand, though it isn't a live tracker. Peec AI, Profound and Chatbeat offer free trials, and AthenaHQ has a credit-limited free tier.
How accurate is AI answer monitoring?
Treat it as a sample. AI answers change between runs and vary by engine, location and wording, so any one result is a snapshot. Trends across many prompts are more reliable than a single answer, and reading the underlying answers is the only way to judge whether a claim about your brand is correct.
